‘A CHAIN REACTION’ Sponsored Cycle Ride
14th May 2011
On Saturday 14th May 2011, eleven cyclists rode 14 miles from Bardney (near Lincoln) to Woodhall Spa and back.
The weather started out quite sunny, but during the ride the grey clouds caught up with the riders giving them the occasional few drops of rain. The wind was behind them all the way which proved helpful.
Whilst stopped for lunch there was a heavy shower, but everyone was able to take shelter. Once refuelled, the riders set off back to Bardney. The problem with having the wind behind them on the way mean’t it was against them going back! This with the ever increasing sore bottoms and aching legs proved quite hard work.
Everyone arrived back safely and now have the task of collecting the sponsor money. Early indications are that £1100 will be raised. This will be split 50/50 with ROAD and Acts Trust. When the total is known an update will be posted.
Thank you to all the riders who gave up their time and also to everyone who sponsored them.
