Crasna Homes

Crasna SignKitchen Supplied by ROADOne Of The New BuildingsROAD have been visiting and supporting the home in Crasna since our first visits in the early 1990’s.

Initially it was an old people’s home and conditions were very cramped and basic.  As well as the elderly there were young disabled people who had nowhere else to go - many of them had been living her since they had turned 18 and were still only in their twenties.  ROAD have been able to supply beds and cabinets from hospitals in Lincolnshire that were closing as well as blankets; new industrial gas cookers; fridge units; clothing; Christmas gifts and much more.

Since this time two new buildings have been funded by the E.U Phare scheme and so now there is one building for the elderly and the other for those with learning disabilities.  The old building is still home for some with physical disabilities but conditions are vastly improved for all residents.

The new manager Nadia cares about all the residents and is trying to create a place where they can be happy and lead life to a reasonable standard.  They still have a limited budget and ROAD continues to support them in practical ways as and when we have the funds or equipment to do so.
