Romanian Relief

Sarah & EmmaBoys BedroomGirls BedroomKids PlayingKids & Staff at Safe HouseHouse Parents & New BabiesNew Medical CentreROAD have worked alongside Romanian Relief now for a number of years.

We try to support their activities in Romania by transporting their aid at no cost.  They have a number of projects but we have particularly been supportive of their safe houses and also thrilled to see their new clinic. The sole purpose of Safe Homes is to provide a family and a home to children that were never going to be adopted or cared for by any others. Over the past three years we have been immensely privileged to see the growth of 12 very special children.

The two Safe homes are at the heart of Romanian Relief. They were opened in 2005 and provide 2 family homes for 12 abandoned children with special needs.  The vision for these homes is to provide children with a stable family, and to rehabilitate them from the psychological damage they have suffered from being institutionalised. This is achieved via ‘live in’ parents and staff who treat the children with the same loving care that they would give to their own.

Romanian Relief is one of the few charities in Romania who home children with special needs and is the only charity in the county of Bihor to do so.  Romanian Relief is committed to providing lifelong support and care, as well as a family environment for each child to grow and flourish in. We strongly believe that these children are worth our investment and time.  Romanian Relief will ensure that Safe Homes will continue to be these children’s home and basis of support.

Romanian Relief is a registered Foundation in Romania, but is not yet a registered charity in the UK. For that reason and In order to better manage their banking services and deal with money raised through donations and other fundraising activity in the UK, they have entered into a collaborative partnership with ROAD who now manage all Romanian Relief banking services on their behalf through a specific sub account.

ROAD has been and continues to be very supportive of Romanian Relief projects in a number or ways including transport of equipment and materials. See Romanian Relief’s Website
